London housebuilder Telford Homes has created two specialised divisions. Telford Homes Metro will focus on bigger developments and Telford Homes Alto on smaller schemes.

The move is intended to take advantage of the specialist knowledge required to undertake construction work at different scales and using different methods.

All developments will continue to be marketed under the group name. The company will continue to concentrate on its traditional markets in east London, the City fringes and Docklands.

Andrew Wiseman, Telford Homes chief executive, said: “It remains one of our strengths that we operate in a relatively small region, primarily in east and north London. The board has decided that this concentration of our business should continue to maximise the benefit of the excellent relationships we have established in this area.”

The restructuring has also led to a number of personnel changes. Mark Parker, formerly of Barratt Group, has been appointed managing director of Telford Homes Metro. John Fitzgerald, formerly a construction director at Telford, has been promoted to managing director of Telford Homes Alto.

Mark Duffield becomes the technical director of the Metro division and Jeremy Brett the construction director. Fitzgerald, Duffield and Brett have stepped down from the board as a result of the changes.
