Developer Real Estate Opportunities (REO) has announced the team that will work with architect Rafael Viñoly to masterplan the redevelopment of Battersea power station in south London.
Buro Happold will be structural engineer, Roger Preston and Partners will provide M&E services, Battle McCarthy will be in charge of sustainability, Davis Langdon will be cost consultant and DP9 will supervise planning.
Viñoly was appointed in April after Arup’s original masterplan for the 15ha site was scrapped by REO in February.
Rob Davies, REO’s development manager, said: “The team has been recruited from those who have previous experience of the project and a thorough understanding of the challenges faced, and those new to the project but with fresh and innovative ideas. Our intention is to ensure that the revised masterplan, once in place, can be developed as quickly and as thoroughly as possible.”
Buro Happold and Roger Preston and Partners were already working on the scheme.
REO said the team expected to be able to consult on its specific design intentions, which will be mainly residential, in early 2008.
