Consultant appointed as cost adviser on £5.6bn North West Metro project
Consultant Turner & Townsend has been appointed cost and commercial adviser on the A$12bn (£5.6bn) North West Metro project in Sydney.
The rail link, which will have 17 stations when completed, will be Australia’s largest transport project and aims to reduce journey times into the city.
Construction is expected to start in 2010, with the first trains operating on part of the route by 2015.
Project director Martin Berry said: “We are delighted to be appointed on this high profile major transport project which will support the continued social and economic growth of the region.”
