Local firm lands work for law firms in Scottish capital and Glasgow
Thomas & Adamson has won a deal to carry out project and cost management work on two fit out schemes for a pair of law firms in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
T&A, which has offices in both cities as well as London, will carry out work for Shepherd and Wedderburn at One Haymarket Square in the Scottish capital.
The seven-storey building is part of the wider £350m Haymarket Edinburgh scheme which has been designed by Foster & Partners and is being built by Sir Robert McAlpine. As well as office space, it will include hotel accommodation, shops and leisure facilities.
McAlpine started work on the job for Qmile Group and M&G Real Estate just before the UK was put into its first lockdown nearly two years ago.
M&G Real Estate acquired the four-acre site, a former goods yard next to Haymarket train station which had been empty for more than 50 years, in 2018 for £49m.
T&A’s deal for Shepperd and Wedderburn involves 30,000 sq ft of Category B fit-out spread over two floors of the development. No contractor has yet been appointed with work due to start this summer.
In Glasgow, it is overseeing a 6,440 sq ft Category B fit-out on behalf of Morton Fraser at 1 West Regent Street, with new formal client meeting rooms, informal meeting space and collaboration space for staff. Contractor on the scheme is McGill FM.
T&A associate director Paul Mackintosh said: “The hybrid working model is here to stay, therefore it’s hugely important that employers establish an office space that is inviting; a space that people want to return to and that fulfils their basic needs.”
