DLA Architecture has won planning permission for The Chocolate Block, an 11,500ft2 office scheme in Finchley, north London. Coated in chocolate-coloured cement cladding, the chunky block contrasts with neighbouring brick buildings.

It makes maximum use of space by placing the office on columns above a car park. The scheme, for client BM Samuels, is expected to begin on site this summer.
