The £100m regeneration scheme at King's Quay, overlooking the Royal Albert Basin in London's Thames Gateway, is about to go on site. Architect Jestico + Whiles, working with developer Furlong City, has established an urban quarter around the 1882 grade II*-listed Gallions Hotel. More than 440 homes and a hotel are arranged in 10 buildings around a central square. Laing O'Rourke is contractor, Alan Baxter and Associates and Walsh Associates are civil/structural engineers, RPS is environmental consultant, Whitecode Design Associates is services consultant and Gillespies is landscape consultant.
