Firm to upgrade office space at Manchester’s Westminster House
Styles & Wood has won a £17.7m contract to refurbish Manchester’s Westminster House.
The firm has been awarded the contract from Aviva Investors following a two-stage tender process.
The project will see the 15,000m² building on Portland Street refurbished to offer Grade A office space together with M&E upgrades on a phased basis which will allow the current tenants to remain in the building.
The scheme has been designed by BDP, WSP and Chapman BDSP and is due to complete in November 2016.
Tony Lenehan, chief executive at Styles & Wood, said: “This is a significant win for Styles & Wood in a key growth sector for a number of the Group’s service lines.
“The Group now has in excess of 25,000 sq m of office space under refurbishment for legal, financial and insurance blue chip customers. This reinforces our credentials for corporate office clients on a national scale.
“As such, combined with our expertise in working in live, occupied environments, we are now in an excellent position to secure future projects as institutional investors look to enhance the value of their property assets.”
