Fit-out specialist promotes senior independent director and audit committee chairman Jim Martin

Retail fit-out specialist Styles & Wood has appointed Jim Martin as non-executive chairman.

Martin steps up from his role as senior independent director and chairman of its audit committee, positions he has held since October 2006.

Prior to that he was chairman of retailer Alexon Group and was previously non-executive director at housebuilder Redrow. He was also chief executive of retailer N Brown group for 18 years.

Following his appointment, the roles of senior independent director and chairman of the audit committee will be performed by Robert Hough and Paul Mitchell, respectively.

Styles & Wood chief executive Ivan McKeever said: “The board is delighted that Jim has agreed to take on the role of chairman. His contribution to the business over the last two years has been greatly valued and I look forward to working closely with him in the future.”
