Fit-out contractor Structure Tone has poached Dean Manning, managing director of Wates Interiors, to head its UK business.
Manning, whose appointment will be announced later this month, will become managing director with responsibility for Structure Tone’s operations in the UK, Ireland and Italy.
The move is the second high-profile departure from Wates in recent times. Last month, group finance director Jonathan Houlton was appointed to the board of Interior Services Group.
Manning replaces Scott Cable, who left at the beginning of last year. Trevor Kavanagh, acting UK managing director, will continue with the firm, although his new role has yet to be decided. The turnover of Structure Tone’s UK business exceeded £75m in 2005, with recent high-profile London projects including refurbishments of the British Library the Tiffany’s store on Bond Street.
Bob Mullen, Structure Tone chief executive officer, said: “Dean’s overall knowledge of the UK marketplace and solid level of experience will help us build up our interiors and building refurbishment divisions in London.”
