Mott MacDonald and Ramboll will work on the £130m new arrivals terminal
A joint venture between Mott MacDonald and Ramboll has been appointed as design engineers for London Stansted Airport’s new arrivals terminal and the redevelopment of the existing terminal.
The project involves the development and delivery of the Pascall & Watson-designed arrivals terminal (pictured), which is part of the facility’s wider £600m transformation programme.
The existing building, which was designed by Norman Foster, will be reconfigured into a dedicated departures-only terminal.
This will include the expansion of check-in, security and retail areas, along with a new airside coaching facility, aircraft stands, taxiway infrastructure and car parking facilities.
Mott MacDonald and Ramboll will provide structural, civil engineering, building services, information and communication technology, specialist systems and airfield engineering.
Mott MacDonald is also providing a project management office controls team.
Gary Howard, Mott MacDonald’s aviation projects director, said: “The redevelopment will support anticipated passenger growth and give users the high-quality facilities that they expect from an international airport.”
Pascall & Watson was confirmed for the new £130m arrivals terminal last month.
