Tool hire firm Speedy has created a consultancy division to advise on site waste management, sustainability and health and safety, which will grow to “several hundred” over the next
few years.
The creation of the Advisory Services division is part of a broader move out of plant hire and into the support services market.
The heads of the division include Alan Fletcher, a former environmental director at Halcrow, and Andy Camfield, previously head of health, safety and environment at EC Harris.
In a trading update on Tuesday, rival HSS Hire reported revenues of £126.6m for the first nine months of 2010, an increase of 13% from £111.9m from the same period
last year.
