Speedy Hire profit jumps 18%

Speedy Hire has reported an 18.6% rise in pre-tax profit to £36.4m for the year ended 31 March 2007.

Turnover at the equipment hire business rose 31.9% to £335.5m over the period, up from £254.3m in 2006.

Chairman David Wallis said: “We have seen strong performance in all our key metrics and momentum in the business remains strong. Health and safety legislation together with customer requirements for supply chain improvements continue to provide an increased impetus towards the hiring of tools and equipment.”
