Equipment hire firm announces Claudio Veritiero as new chief operating officer and reveals 35.7% rise in turnover
Speedy Hire announced the appointment of a chief operating officer. Claudio Veritiero has been with the tool and equipment hire company since 2004, when he joined the business development department. Veritiero will be overseeing the company’s operational activities in the UK.
Chairman of Speedy Hire, David Wallis, said: “Claudio’s broad operational and industry experience will further add to Speedy's senior management team and support the company's continued growth and expansion.”
The news of the appointment comes on the same day as the company announced a 35.7% turnover rise. The company registered revenue of £209.5m in its interim results ending September 2007. Profits before tax stood at £18.2m, a 17.4% increase to last year.
Wallis anticipates continuous growth for the company: “Construction activity is forecast to remain on a steady upward path and health and safety as well as environmental legislation continues the drive towards hire. In addition, our recently acquired business Hewden Tools offers a great opportunity to grow the enlarged business. Consequently, we remain confident of reporting further good progress.”
