McGee recruits O’Rourke technical specialist as operations director
Specialist contractor McGee Group has appointed former Laing O’Rourke technical lead Seb Fossey as its new operations director.
He will be responsible for all the firm’s civil and structural projects from pre-construction to completion on site, and will take charge of its current portfolio of major projects.
During a 17-year career with Laing O’Rourke, Fossey held project leadership positions in the UK and abroad, and his last role was as technical leader for the UK construction business. His career has specialised in reinforced concrete, deep basement construction and heavy civils work.
Wembley-based McGee provides demolition, civil engineering and construction services, and turned over £125m in its last financial year.
Fossey said: “I’m very pleased to take up my new role in the McGee business where I join a fantastic team of people who are successfully delivering some of the most exciting and challenging work in London at the moment. Like the rest of the McGee leadership team I’m passionate about early engagement, and I look forward to collaborating with our clients and their consultants to engineer, plan and ultimately deliver their projects efficiently.”
McGee Group managing director Brian McGee said: “It’s a great coup for McGee to attract someone of Seb’s calibre to the business; he’s a very welcome addition to our board. His technical knowledge, industry experience and operational know-how will ensure we continue to deliver value for our clients driving their success by providing innovative, world-class demolition, civil engineering and construction services, either as standalone services or as an integrated solution.”
