Southend learning centre goes to planning

Fraser Brown MacKenna Architects has submitted a planning application for a 150,000ft² learning campus in Southend, Essex.

The campus will incorporate a secondary school, vocational college and sports academy on the site of Thorpe Bay School, Southend. The development will include an auditorium and a business academy which will be available for community use.

The project is one of 28 schemes nationwide selected as "pathfinders" for the government’s Trust Schools initiative, and will provide a range of vocational pathways to A-Level equivalent standard.
