Annual report measures social, environmental and financial performance.

Edinburgh-based property development company the EDI Group has recorded a pre-tax profit of £1.33m, up 10% year-on-year, on a turnover of £7.6m.

The Group, which is owned by Edinburgh City Council, says it is successfully mixing commercial performance with social responsibility. It has completed a series of projects in the city’s old town that include affordable housing, accommodation for the homeless and refurbishing landmark buildings such as One Parliament Square.

Group chair Ian Perry said: “As a private company we have been successful in making profits, but we also aim to support the economic success of the region in a way that is sustainable and promotes social benefits."

For the first time, the group’s annual report measures its social and environmental performance, as well as its financial results. Waste management, land use and community satisfaction were independently assessed for the report.
