The £4.1m Lightbox in Woking, Surrey, designed by Marks Barfield Architects, has opened to the public.

The three-storey, wedge-shaped building includes a gallery and museum, and is clad in a “snakeskin” of overlapping anodised aluminium panels in five shades of gold and silver. It was built by R Durtnell & Son, with Jane Wernick Associates as structural engineer.
