PRI has the home energy controller as part of a government drive to roll-out smart metering to all UK households over the next decade.
The aim of the product is to reduce demand for energy by making it easier for occupiers to understand the correlation between energy use and cost, and raise awareness about how much energy is wasted when lighting or appliances are left switched on. The maker says it has an easy-to-use touch-screen that gives details on gas and electricity consumption, tariffs, and payment options. It can also be integrated into the home heating system as a hot water and heating controller.
