Contractor Skanska has completed the highly sustainable Moorgate Exchange office building in the City of London
The 20,204sqm office HKR Architects-designed building, located next to Moorgate Station, features six landscaped roof terraces and a green roof with spectacular views of London.
The project, for clients BlackRock and CarVal Investors in conjunction with Quadrant Estates, is one of the first in the UK to achieve both BREEAM Excellent and LEED Platinum ratings.
The project team included building services engineer, energy and sustainability consultant Hilson Moran , structural engineer Ramboll, project manager GVA Second London Wall, quantity surveyor Gardiner and Theobald and landscape architect Hyland Edgar Driver.
Skanska managing director, Paul Heather said: “By using technologies such as LED lighting, low-energy fan coil units and highly efficient chillers and boilers to create this building, we have ensured that tenants will enjoy low energy consumption and reduced running costs.
“The development is a notable addition to our portfolio of high-quality offices in the City.”
