Tenders for work for Crossrail, Network Rail and London Underground are set to be issued next week
Crossrail has shortlisted six firms for its Paddington integrated project works.
BAM Nuttall, Bovis Lend Lease, Carillion, Laing O’Rourke, Morgan Est and Vinci are set to receive tenders for the job next week.
The contract, which covers work for Crossrail as well as Network Rail and London Underground, includes construction of a shell for the new Hammersmith and City line tube station.
The winning contractor will also take on major structural works to the existing Red Star deck, which will allow the station’s taxi rank to be relocated from Departures Road.
Main works at Paddington to build a new ticket hall and Crossrail platforms are set to start in early 2011.
