A £8m primary school in the Scottish borders by Glasgow practice Stallan-Brand is one of 19 schemes that have been shortlisted for this year’s RIAS awards.

Broomlands school in Kelso is up against a number of high-profile rivals including Kengo Kuma’s £80m V&A museum in Dundee and the £140m Macallan distillery and visitor experience at Craigellachie designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.
