Renew’s specialist arm will be sole contractor on the four-year contract
Shepley Engineers, the Cumbria-based specialist arm of Renew, has been named sole contractor on a major nuclear deal at Sellafield.
The framework is worth an estimated £26m over the next four years.
The appointment by the Integrated Project Team, comprising Sellafield Ltd and ACKtiv Nuclear, will see the firm handle hazard reduction work on fuel storage ponds.
Shepley is the sole contractor on the deal.
The win follows the firm’s appointment to the existing multi-discipline site-wide framework, which has been extended to September 2012, and the decommissioning and demolition framework, which has a spend of over £30m a year.
Chief executive Brian May said: “These new framework appointments reinforce our already strong engineering services forward order position.
“The recently announced government commitment to infrastructure funding confirms the board’s confidence that Renew’s position as an engineering services group supporting UK infrastructure will provide sustainable, profitable growth in 2012 and beyond.”
