Store will be South Yorkshire’s first IKEA store
Sheffield City Council (SCC) has approved plans for development of a £60m IKEA store in the city.
SCC approved the plans yesterday. The Swedish furniture retailer hopes to open the new store at junction 34 of the M1 in 2016.
The store will be IKEA’s first South Yorkshire store. Ikea said it had been looking for many years for a “large enough” site in South Yorkshire.
