Firm appointed to provide building services engineering
Building services engineer SES has been appointed to provide services for a £15m development for Avon and Somerset Police including a rifle range.
The project, being built by contractor Miller Construction, will see an indoor firing range built in a disused quarry in Portishead in Somerset. The complex will also include staff offices, tactical training facilities and class rooms.
The facility will be used by police from Avon and Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
Nick Cox, regional manager at SES, said: “This is a significant contract win for the South West office and I believe our ability to secure such a contract is a reflection of our innovative approach and depth of in-house resource.”
As part of the scheme the firms will also build three new buildings each with custody facilities, supporting investigative functions and administrative services in Bridgwater, Patchway and Keynsham.
