Kennsington Gardens will open its 10th Serpentine Pavilion this weekend, and there’s a chance to hear Nouvel discuss his design
The 10th Serpentine Pavilion in Kensington Gardens, designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, opens this weekend.
Nouvel’s structure is an assortment of large steel frames arranged to form a pitched-roof marquee. The roof is comprised of a series of retractable fabric awnings and the walls are a mixture of polycarbonate and lightweight metal panels.
But its most striking feature is not its form but its colour which is a deep, blood red
Nouvel will be discussing his design for the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion on Monday 12 July, 5pm.
