engineer KBR is under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office over an alleged bribery scandal on a Nigerian gas plant project.

KBR, a subsidiary of US oil service company Halliburton, is being investigated in connection with an alleged plot to pay £89m in bribes to secure work on the multibillion-pound project. The Serious Fraud Office has carried out searches at five addresses in the UK as part of its investigation into KBR.

The case is already being investigated in Nigeria, France and the USA. The gas plant project is backed by Royal Dutch Shell, Total, Eni and the Nigerian government.
