Knightstone Housing Association has converted a grade II-listed primary school in Long Ashton on the outskirts of Bristol into five apartments

As the building was listed, the gothic-style windows had to be retained while at the same time, their thermal insulation had to be improved to meet current Building Regulations. Secondary glazing from Selectaglaze was produced to compliment the existing windows. This comprised of hinged, fixed and sliding panels incorporating low emissivity glass to minimise heat loss. This has also helped reduce ambient noise levels.
