Close to 50 jobs lost after collapse of Connect Modular
A Scottish modular housing business has gone into administration with the loss of close to 50 jobs.
Connect Modular appointed FRP Advisory last Monday while the following day FRP was appointed liquidator of sister company Hope South West.
FRP said all 48 members of staff have been made redundant across the two companies – 38 from Connect Modular and 10 from Hope South West.
The firms, based in Cumnock, Ayrshire, worked on award-winning modular housing schemes for councils, housing associations and community trusts across the UK.
But FRP said the pair had “suffered significant financial challenges in recent months due to rising operational costs and losses made on previous contracts, which has placed significant pressure on trading operations and cash flow”.
Connect’s clients included North Ayrshire council, West Lothian council and West of Scotland Housing Association.
Both Connect and Hope South West were part of Cummock-based housing business The Wee House Group.
