Barr Holdings has posted turnover of £231.9m in the nine months to 31 December 2008
The figure compares with £294m in the year to 31 March 2008 and produces a broadly flat comparable annualised sum of £285m.
Pre-tax profit at the Scottish contractor and civil engineering firm, which works across the UK, was £5.6m, which compares with £14,000 over the previous period.
A company statement said: “The marketplace is challenging in all sectors where the group trades. In order to manage the situation the group has reduced its cost base. Looking forward, however, market activity is expected to improve.”
The pay of the highest-paid director was £193,083 over the nine-month period, compared with £226,391 in the previous year.
