Claims centre will handle around 70,000 claims each year
Rok, which styles itself the “nation's local builder”, has opened an insurance centre in Mansfield.
The centre will provide building repair and claims services to the insurance industry, and the company expects to handle 70,000 claims each year at the new centre.
Nigel Lemmon, managing director of Rok Maintenance, said: “Rok has been providing successful building repairs to the insurance sector for more than five years and is now able to combine this with excellent claims management through teams with extensive experience in the household insurance claim sector.”
Although Rok has been involved with the insurance sector for some years, the move will be seen as an attempt by Rok to diversify its business operations after a grim few months.
It has cut a total of 750 jobs since August and issued a profit warning in November. It expects turnover for 2008 to be £120m less than originally anticipated.
