Acquisition helps expand firm’s labour force and maintenance group
Building and maintenance group ROK has acquired Avonside Services for £16.5m.
The company, which was formed in 2003 following a management buy-out, provides plumbing, heating and electrical services to the construction industry.
Avonside's directors will remain at the firm.
The move is part of Rok’s plans to expand its maintenance arm and increase its numbers of directly employed tradespeople.
Garvis Snook, Rok's chief executive, said: “Avonside will expand our own labour force where our preference for direct delivery of services is key to customer satisfaction and margin growth.
“The acquisition also provides a strong platform from which to extend our plumbing, heating and electrical services across the rest of the UK in our pursuit of becoming the Nation’s Local Builder.”
Last year Avenside reported pre-tax profits of £2.2m, and a turnover of £42m.
