UK architect teams up with Spanish practice to design Campus Palmas Atlas business park, which is specially adapted for extreme summer conditions
Richard Rogers has unveiled its business park for the Abengoa Group in Seville, Spain.
Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners teamed up with Spanish practice Vidal y Asociados arquitectos to create a business park particularly suited to the extreme summertime conditions in the south of Spain.
The 132m euro scheme comprises seven buildings. Five of these form theHQ complex for Abengo, a technology company specialising in sustainable infrastrucre and energy.
In total all seven building provide about 47,000 sq m of office space across highly compact floorplates in selfcontained structures between three and four storeys in height.
Energy saving measures include photovoltaic panels, a tri-generation plant, hydrogen batteries and chilled beams. The design of individual buildings and the linear arrangement of all the buildings maximises self shading.
