Institution of Structural Engineers to inaurgurate new president later this month
Professor Roger Plank has been made president if the Institution of Structural Engineers for 2011.
Previously vice president, Professor Plank will be inaugurated on 14 January and his term will run until January 2012.
He has held several positions as visiting professor and chaired a number of committees for the UK and European steel construction sector, the ISE said.
In a statement, Professor Plank said: “I am very excited about the year ahead as President of the Institution. I want to use this opportunity to focus on how the Institution can add value to the benefit of its members and also play a role in engaging structural engineers in areas which are beyond their traditional core activities.”
