RUN by Monica Bonvicini weighs 30 tonnes and is adjacent to the handball arena
The largest piece of stand-alone artwork on London’s Olympic park is being installed.
RUN by Monica Bonvicini features 9m tall letters each weighing 10 tonnes and is constructed from steel and reflective glass interspersed with 305m of LED lighting.
The sculpture is inspired by the music of Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young and located beside Make Architects’ handball arena.
The commission is part of the Olympic Delivery Authority’s Art in the Park programme and will take six weeks to install.
