Current chief executive Stef Stefanou will remain as chairman of concrete contractor.
Stef Stefanou is to hand over the day-to-day running of the John Doyle Group to Rob Johnson.
From 1 January Johnson will replace Stefanou as chief executive. Stefanou will remain as chairman of the concrete contractor.
Johnson joined the group 18 months ago after nine years at Jarvis. Commenting on his move he said: “I am delighted not only that Stef has the confidence in me to be able to take a step back but also to have joined a business where the commitment and loyalty of the staff is so strong. I look forward to taking the business from strength to strength.”
The appointment formed part of Stefanou’s succession plans for the Group. He recently appointed Paul Nurton as managing director of John Doyle Construction and Mark Taylor as managing director of Ibex Interiors.
Stefanou said: “I am pleased to be able to put the day to day operations and future of the Group in Rob’s hands having worked closely with him over the past year after knowing each other for almost 20 years.
“I will continue to work with Rob to ensure a smooth transition and look forward to the continued growth of the Group under his direction.”
