Former RBS chief executive to help Edinburgh-based architect's international expansion strategy
Sir Fred Goodwin, the former RBS chief executive who became the face of banker greed during the recession, has become a senior adviser to architect RMJM.
According to a report in the Times, an internal RMJM memo last week said his appointment was designed to support the international expansion of the world’s fifth largest architect.
The Edinburgh-based firm would not confirm how much Goodwin would be paid and it was reported that he would help the firm’s expansion plans in Asia.
A source close to the company said it had thought “long and hard” before making the appointment but decided to proceed because Goodwin’s reputation in Asia had not taken the same battering it took in the UK.
