Cost consultant’s initial three-year deal is latest for its business in the country
Rider Levett Bucknall has been appointed cost consultant on the $8bn (£4.9bn) Knowledge Economic City project in Saudi Arabia.
The mixed-use development, on the outskirts of Medina, will house about 150,000 people after it completes in 2020.
RLB’s initial three-year appointment is the latest contract win for its 30-year-old Saudi Arabian business. The consultant is also working on the King Abdullah Financial District and proton therapy, cancer and neurological science facilities at King Fahd Medical City, both in Riyadh.
Lance Taylor, chief executive of RLB, said: “We are delighted with this appointment. RLB has traded here for more than three decades and Saudi Arabia remains an important long-term market for us.”
