Consultant could be working on the largest PPP project in Queensland
Consultant Rider Levett Bucknall has been appointed QS on the £400m Sunshine Coast Hospital in Queensland, Australia.
The case is being analysed to determine whether the project will proceed as a Public Private Partnership (PPP).
If it gets the green light it will become the largest PPP building project in Queensland.
The hospital is to be constructed on a 20ha greenfield site at Kawana Waters and when completed in 2014 will contain 450 beds, increasing to 650 beds by 2021.
Paul Megram, RLB Queensland director, said: “Our UK colleagues’ wealth of experience gained over the past 10 years of successfully delivering PPP projects for government departments and the private sector will be invaluable during the business case phase of this project.”
Brian Grew, partner at RLB UK, added: “This is a great example of how our collaborative approach can benefit our clients across the globe.
“The transfer of UK best practice to our other offices will help the successful delivery of International PFI/PPP projects as this funding/procurement route continues to develop.”
