Development Management is aimed at project management surveyors
RICS is looking to raise standards in the early project management process with the publication of a new guidance which aims to set out best practice when advising on the key elements that will shape a construction project.
Development Management is primarily aimed at project management surveyors and sets out the main phases of the development management process and the main activities included in each phase
The note provides specific guidance on the key issues that will impact upon the development process, including the initial appraisal of the development and the valuation of the development land; how to effectively navigate the complex planning application processes in England and Wales; which form of funding will be most appropriate for your project and which procurement route should be considered.
Max Crofts, RICS president, said: “This guidance note will provide those working in this area with the key stages they need to consider when taking on a development project and will equip them with the tools to ensure they provide a professional service.”
