RIBA is set to present awards for high architectural standards for new buildings across the UK and EU this evening.
The RIBA Awards will acknowledge 62 buildings, 54 in the UK and eight in the EU, which have contributed to their local environment.
Buildings being recognised include the Phaeno Science Centre in Wolfsburg, Germany, the conservation of a 1930s house in West Sussex and the Maggie's Highlands Cancer Caring Centre in Inverness.
Young architects and established names such as Richard Rogers Partnership, Alsop Design and Foster and Partners have also won an award, to be presented at an event at London's Hilton Hotel.
The winners form the long list for the Stirling prize, which will be announced on October 14.
