Big names make the list across 18 categories
The finalists for the 2021 Building Awards have been announced.
Big-name firms have so far been shortlisted (see the full shortlist below) across 18 categories, with the contenders for three more categories – construction client, CEO of the year, and personality of the year – all set to be revealed soon.
This year’s awards will be held in person and the ceremony set to take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 2 November.
In the major contractor category, firms in the running include ISG, Mace and Midgard.
Aecom, Alinea and Turner & Townsend are in contention to be named consultant of the year among firms with more than 100 staff. Others nominated in this category include Baily Garner, Core Five, Fulkers Bailey Russell, Gleeds, Mott Macdonald, Rider Levett Bucknall, Soben and Stace.
A number of high-profile schemes are in the running for awards, including Kier’s Morley House project in Westminster, Bam’s GICU scheme for University Hospital Southampton and Sir Robert McAlpine’s 100 Liverpool Street.
