Firefighters were searching a partially collapsed building in Whitechapel in east London for trapped victims, as Building went to press.
The four-storey building on Commercial Road was being renovated when the top two floors collapsed on Tuesday afternoon, throwing debris across the street. Nobody was thought to be inside the building at the time, but firefighters carried out sound tests and the actions of one of its sniffer dogs led them to believe someone might be trapped. Paramedics treated 11 passers-by for shock and minor injuries.
