The UK’s first installation of PVCu windows made from 98% recycled window frames has been completed by Northwards Housing, a social housing company based in Manchester
The frames have been installed in 18 properties and are made from recycled material with a thin virgin “skin” added to the outside to ensure colour uniformity.
The old material was recovered from a nearby tower block and reprocessed by Wrekin Windows and its sister companies, PVCu recycler Dekura and window systems company Profile 22.
The new units replace single-glazed timber windows.
