Former Jacobs director joins consultants
Denmark-headquartered consultancy Ramboll has appointed former Jacobs airport engineering guru Matthew Pierpoint as its new global aviation director.
Pierpoint (pictured) will be based in London in what is a new role for Ramboll.
The former Jacobs technical director and airport design manager has a decade and a half of experience overseeing airport improvement schemes around the world, including airside and landside projects, terminal planning and runway developments.
A BIM specialist, he helped to deliver the third terminal at Delhi’s Indira International airport and the midfield concourse at Hong Kong International airport.
Ramboll UK managing director Mathew Riley said Pierpoint’s experience in aviation engineering and using BIM on major projects “will prove incredibly valuable as we invest further in design digitisation and innovation and help take our aviation business to new levels”.
In 2017 Ramboll, which employs 14,000 staff worldwide, reported annual turnover of €1.4bn (£1.2bn) and pre-tax profit of €41m (£36m).
