Industry heavyweight joins from Arcadis
Ramboll has hired Mathew Riley as its new UK managing director.
Riley (pictured) joins from Arcadis, where he spent seven years and was most recently the firm’s managing director for the infrastructure, industry and utility sectors in the UK, Europe and Middle East.
Riley replaces Ramboll’s acting UK managing director Robert Arpe, who took on the role last September from Steve Canadine. Canadine joined Mott MacDonald in April as development director for environment.
Before his stint at Arcadis, Riley was commercial director at Laing O’Rourke and also worked as supply chain director for BAA.
Commenting on the appointment of Riley, Ramboll’s group executive director and UK chairman, Søren Holm Johansen, said: “We are delighted to welcome someone of Mathew’s calibre to Ramboll.
“We are committed to expanding our business in the UK and Mathew’s considerable expertise and experience in the industry will help us to achieve this aim.”
Riley said he was “excited” to join Ramboll and to begin “engaging” with the firm’s clients.
