Contractor Skanska set to appoint engineer to the £60m Bermondsey Dive under rail project
Engineer Ramboll is set to be appointed to the £60m Bermondsey Dive under rail project which forms part of the Thameslink scheme.
Building understands the engineer is set to sign a deal with contractor Skanska to provide engineering support to the project, which will see the construction of 11 new interconnected structures along the line of existing operational rail viaducts allowing trains unimpeded access to London Bridge station.
The project will also strengthen a number of bridges in the area.
The complex project for Network Rail was awarded to the contractor in May this year with construction set to start next year and complete in 2017.
Thameslink will upgrade the line from Bedford to Brighton through central London with more stations, more capacity and more frequent services.
