Philippa Spence takes over from promoted Mathew Riley
Ramboll has appointed its first female managing director of its UK business with Philippa Spence promoted to the top role after two years at the firm.
She joined in 2019 from Environmental Resources Management, an environmental, health and safety consultant which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, as its managing principal for its UK environment and health arm.
Spence takes over from Mathew Riley who joined Ramboll as UK managing director in 2016 from EC Harris and who has now joined Ramboll’s group executive board as chief operating officer.
She will be in charge of the firm’s 1,300-strong UK business and added: “The UK business is well positioned for the rebounding market in the UK. We are growing and continue to invest in innovation and deepening our portfolio of services to meet the sustainability challenges of the future.”
As well as the UK, Riley’s responsibilities now include Germany, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway.
