Foster and Partners’ additional work to the six-storey Hearst Building in New York has been topped out.

The building, which is not scheduled to be completed until next year, now rises to 46 storeys, 182 m above the original structure. The building will provide about 305,000 m2 of office space for one of America’s largest publishing companies. The tower has a triangulated form that uses 21% less steel than a traditional frame and is also structurally more resilient.
