The Contact from Rada is a touch-activated tap aimed at commercial premises such as hotels and leisure centres. The tap assists in reducing water consumption by delivering flow for pre-programmed periods. It is supplied with a factory-set flow of eight seconds, but it can be set for flows of up to a minute.
The robust, brass-bodied valve also operates at a wide range of supply pressures from 0.5-8 bar, although optimum performance is achieved at 1 bar and above.
It also incorporates a factory-set hygiene flush which is executed every 72 hours without use. This is said to be an important tool in helping reduce the possibility of legionella colonisation.
The Contact tap can be either deck or basin mounted and installed with either cold or pre-mixed supply, when ideally the tap should be installed in conjunction with a thermostatic under-basin mixing valve, limiting hot water supply to between 38oC and 43oC. It is approved by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme and is designed, manufactured and supported in accordance with accredited BS EN ISO9001:2000 and BS EN ISO14001:2004.
