Cheshire-based architectural practice Calder Peel has released images of the first waterfront residential development in Runcorn, Cheshire.

The site, the Old Quay, was previously a ship repair yard located at the entrance to the Manchester Ship Canal.

The £40m scheme includes 466 apartments in 10 buildings. The architect is working with Taylor Woodrow Developments and has submitted the scheme – which is hoped to trigger a wider renaissance in the town – for planning permission. Work will start on site later this year.
